Law Ruler has an easy-to-use “Traffic Light” reminder system that uses three separate, color-coded timers that will track your progress of completing tasks that are assigned to you. Law Ruler contains a powerful workflow that is automated, intuitive, and is completely customizable by your firm’s administrator, and features an easy-to-use traffic light system for showing when tasks are either in Red, Yellow, or Green based on how you the firm’s Timer Settings are setup.
Please Note: It is strongly suggested that you do your best to be mindful of any tasks that are assigned to you since you will be reminded automatically by Law Ruler as you get closer to the time that the task is due, and the staff member that assigns you a task will be notified if you do not complete any tasks on time.
a) Green Light: When a task is first assigned to you in Law Ruler, you will receive 1 of 3 potential reminder emails letting you know that you have a new task, and also a new task will appear in the “My Tasks” window within the Lead Inbox.
For your convenience, the email will contain a link directly to the lead related to the task to make it easy to go directly to the lead to perform the task (even if you are not currently using Law Ruler at the time that the task is assigned).
When a task is first assigned, the lead will be highlighted in a GREEN Background Color as shown below in your Lead Inbox to show that it requires action and that no timers have expired.
b) Yellow Light: The default settings of Law Ruler will make the lead turn to a YELLOW Background Color and you will get the 2nd of 3 potential reminder emails to remind you to complete the task, if the task is not completed within 50% of the time allotted for the assigned task as shown below. This friendly reminder helps nudge progress to keep moving forward.
c) Red Light: The default settings of Law Ruler will make the lead turn to a RED Background Color and you will get the 3rd and final potential reminder email to remind you to complete the task, if the task is not completed within 100% of the time allotted for the assigned task.
- Please Note: When a task goes to Red Light and the time expires, then a task will be added in the Task Assignor’s “My Task” list and a “Task Not Completed” email will be sent to the staff member that assigned the task to you. The “Task Not Completed” email will request them to review, or reassign the lead in case you are out of the office or unable to handle the task that was assigned within the time specified.
- This prevents any loss of communication and keeps the lead moving forward, even if someone is out of the office, in court, on vacation, or any other reason that would prevent them from handling the task.
