Local Presence Dialing Follow
This article only applies to the Law Ruler version of Legal CRM
For large campaigns that run nationally, it can be a huge advantage to be able to call your customers from a number that is local to them, as studies show people are more likely to answer local calls. Legal CRM offers a Local Presence Dialing feature that allows you to accomplish this! If you are looking to learn more about how to setup and use local presence dialing, this is the right article for you.
⚠️ Please note, Local Presence Dialing is only offered for U.S. numbers. In addition, in order to make the changes laid out in this article, you must have Admin permissions.

How to Setup Local Presence Dialing
To get started, navigate to the Setup option in your menu:
Then, select the option for “Call Center Settings”:
Next, navigate to the setting titled “Outbound Caller ID – Local Presence (US Only):” and turn the toggle on:
You will then be presented with a popup where you will need to select the bundle you would like to purchase. Legal CRM offers the following bundles for purchase:
- The 100 Top Metro Area – Purchases 100 numbers related to the top 100 metro areas
- The Comprehensive Bundle (250 Metro Areas) – Purchases 250 numbers related to the top 250 metro areas
Once you have selected the bundle you wish to buy, you will be shown the numbers that will be purchased:
This is where you will also set the global rules for these numbers, such as the forwarding number for all of the tracking numbers, if these tracking numbers should have calls ring in your Legal CRM dialer, and if calls should be recorded on these phone numbers:
Once you have configured your settings, click Buy at the bottom of the popup to complete your purchase:
You will be asked to confirm that you want to proceed with your purchase. Click Yes, Buy to finalize your purchase:
💡 Please note, the process of buying your numbers could take up to 10 minutes to complete. When the process has completed, your Local Presence Settings popup will auto-close.
Congratulations 🤗! You have successfully configured Local Presence Dialing for your portal. No other configurations are needed, and your portal will now start calling your customers using a phone number with an area code that is closest to your customer's area.
How to Edit a Local Presence Dialing Bundle
If you ever need to make an edit to your Local Presence Dialing Bundle, this can be done in your Marketing Sources & Call Tracking #s page. There could be a variety of reasons you are looking to edit your bundle such as adding a new number, removing a number, or changing the forwarding number for example.
To get started, navigate to the Setup option in your menu:
Next, select the option for "Marketing Sources & Call Tracking #s":
Then, locate your Local Presence Dialing campaign and click the pencil icon to start editing the settings for that campaign:
💡 Please note, the name of your Local Presence Dialing campaign will be the same name as the bundle you purchased. For example, if you purchase The Top 100 Metro Areas bundle, the name of your Local Presence Dialing campaign will be “The Top 100 Metro Areas”.
If desired, you can update the name of this campaign from “The 100 Top Metro Areas” to something else of your choosing under the Campaign Summary page:
To modify the settings for your tracking numbers, navigate to the Tracking Numbers page and click the Edit Bundle Settings option:
Then, you can modify the settings for your tracking numbers such as the forwarding number, call recording, and more:
If you need to remove a number from your bundle, click on the trash can icon to the right of that number:
If you need to add a new tracking number to your bundle, click the “+ Add Tracking #” button in the upper-right corner:
How to Turn Off Local Presence Dialing
If it is ever decided that your firm would like to disable Local Presence Dialing, you may turn off this feature at any time.
To get started, navigate to the Setup option in your menu:
Then, select the option for “Call Center Settings”:
Next, turn off the toggle to the right of the setting named “Outbound Caller ID – Local Presence (US Only):”:
You will be asked to confirm that you would like to proceed with turning off Local Presence Dialing, and after clicking OK, Local Presence Dialing will be disabled in your portal.
